Alternatively known as a PC stick, a stick computer is a personal computer that is entirely contained within a small dongle. They are portable computing devices that are more affordable, but less powerful than laptops or similar options. Stick computers can be plugged directly into an HDMI or another video port on a display such as a monitor or television. Once plugged in, they can be controlled by Bluetooth peripherals or through the USB port on the computer.

Many stick computers are specialized for specific tasks, such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick and Google Chromecast, which run operating systems designed specifically for media consumption.
